St Kitts and Nevis vs Grenada: which suits you?

By Adi Hussain, founder of EKO Citizenship and Residency · Updated 16 October 2026

The short answer

Grenada costs slightly less (from US$235,000 for a family of up to four, against US$250,000 for St Kitts) and is the only one of the five Caribbean programmes with a US E-2 treaty. St Kitts is the oldest programme (since 1984) with the longest track record. The better fit depends on your goals and nationality.

How much does St Kitts and Nevis citizenship cost?

Per the official Citizenship by Investment Unit: the Sustainable Island State Contribution (SISC) starts at US$250,000 for the main applicant or a family of up to four, plus US$25,000 per additional dependant under 18 and US$50,000 per additional dependant aged 18 or over. Due-diligence fees are US$10,000 for the main applicant and US$7,500 per dependant aged 16 or over. See also St Kitts and Nevis economic citizenship.

What is the difference on the US E-2 treaty?

Grenada is a US E-2 treaty investor country; St Kitts is not. However, US law requires people who obtained citizenship by investment to have three years’ continuous domicile in Grenada before they qualify. It is a real advantage, but not an immediate one.

Is an interview required in both programmes?

Yes. St Kitts interviews the main applicant and may interview dependants aged 16 or over. Grenada interviews every applicant aged 17 or over. We prepare you for the interview step by step.

Which is better for a large family?

Both cover up to four people with the base amount. Beyond that, the cost of extra dependants differs by age and relationship, and Grenada allows parents and unmarried siblings under its rules. We calculate the exact cost for your family.

What should I know about travel in 2026?

Visa policies can change, and the EU is currently discussing the future of Caribbean citizenship programmes. St Kitts also now requires biometric enrolment for its passport holders. We explain the current position plainly before you apply.
